1. (i) These rules may be called the Chandigarh Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2021. (ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Chandigarh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1990, after the existing provisions of rule 33(5) of the Chandigarh Motor Vehicle Rules, 1990, the following provisos shall be inserted :— "Provided that if a person holding any registration mark (ordinary or preferential from any previous series), wants to retain such registration mark in his / her name, purchase of any new vehicle or old vehicle purchased from other State, the same will be allowed by charging half of the reserved price fixed for that number in the Sixth Schedule
