The Governor Of Tamil Nadu vide gazette notification G.O. Ms. No. 162, has increased the maximum number of holidays with wages that could be accumulated as per the proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 25 of the said Act to forty five days from the existing twenty four days and additional provisions towards registration, new provisions towards shops and establishments employing less than ten workers, Annual returns and Prohibition of discrimination against women employee. The notification also hereby directs that, the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Act, 1947 shall come into force on 14th November 2018 in all the areas in the State of Tamil Nadu, where the provisions of the said Act have not been brought into force so far
