The Government of Gujarat vide notification no.No.GHR/202 1/39/FAC/14202 1/194/M3 has amended Rule 68-B of The Gujarat Factories Rules, 1963. As per the amendment, the personal protective equipment's (PPE) shall now be approved by the Chief Inspector of Factories and where PPE does not have relevant approval as per Indian Standards or not having approval from the Chief Inspector of Factories they shall be compliant; provided that they follow the EN (European Standard) or ANSI (American National Standards Institute) or ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards as the case may be.
