The Kerala Minimum Wages Notification (Aug 2018)
Government of Kerala, Labour and Skills (E) Department has revised the variable dearness allowance for employment in Shops and Commercial Establishment and employment in Computer Software Sector. As per the Notification No. P3.Pdl.1/2018/DES, the Consumer Price Index (Cost of Living Index) Numbers applicable to employees in employment under the Minimum Wages Act (Central Act XI of 1948) for the month of August 2018 are as ascertained by the Director General of Economics & Statistics under clause (C) of Section 2 of the Act

Maharashtra
Exemption From Payment Of Late Fee Under Maharashtra Professional Tax
As per circular dated 19th October 2018, the Office of the Commissioner of Professional Tax has clarified that the whole late fee payable by the registered employer in respect of monthly or annual returns pertaining to periods April 2016 to November 2018 is exempted subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions mentioned, viz. : (1) Any amount payable as per return should have been/shall be on or before the due date.; (2) The aforesaid employers should submit the monthly or, as the case may be, annual returns pertaining to the periods April 2016 to November 2018 on or before 31st December 2018. The Office of Commissioner has further clarified that no refund or adjustment against any tax liability shall be allowed where late fee has already been paid

West Bengal
The West Bengal LWF Contribution Rate Revised
As per notification published by the West Bengal Labour Welfare Board dated 12th October 2018, the Board has exercised its powers under Section 9 (2) of the West Bengal Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1974 and has revised the rate of contribution for every six month with effect from 1st September, 2018. The previous rate of contribution is Employees Rs 3 per head per half year and Employer Rs 6 per head per half year. The revised rate has been notified for Employees at Rs 3 per head per half year and for Employers at Rs 15 per head per half year
