Abolishing Of Uploading Copy Of Pan Card At The Time Of Registration Of Establishment
As per EPFO circular dated 8th January 2018, the EPFO has informed that the requirement of uploading the scanned copy of PAN card at the time of registration of establishment has been examined and online system has been put in place for verifying details of PAN directly from the Income Tax Department. Hence, it has been decided by the competent authority that there is no need to upload the scanned copy of PAN card at the time of registration of establishments. Information Services Division has already carried out necessary modifications in the software accordingly

Employer Contribution To EPF Need Not Mandatorily Exceed Statutory Wage Ceiling Limit
As per EPFO circular dated 3rd January 2018, EPFO has reiterated (the Supreme Court Judgment in the matter of Marathawada Gramin Bank Karamchari Sangathan and another Vs. Management of Marathawada Gramin Bank) and has directed that employers cannot be forced to contribute over and above the statutory wage ceiling in respect of their employees. However, option is available for the employees to contribute beyond the statutory wage ceiling if they so desire subject to the conditions enumerated under Para 26 (6) of the Employees' Provident Funds Scheme, 1952

As per The Rationalisation of Forms and Reports Under Certain Labour Laws (Amendment) Rules, 2017 published in the official gazette dated 29th December 2017, forms for Application for Registration and Unified Annual Returns under The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Central Rules, 1971 have been changed. The same forms for Application for Registration and Unified Annual Returns have been made applicable in the Building and Other Construction Workers’ (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Central Rules, 1998, The Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Central Rules, 1980. These forms replace earlier forms for Application for Registration and Annual Return under all three Central Rules. The Unified Annual Returns shall be filed online at the Shram Suvidha Portal: https://shramsuvidha.gov.in/home

As per EPFO circular dated 19th December 2017, the EPFO has stated that, with reference to the notification No. C-Ex/Ex - Return/2014/19536 on Online Filing And Specified Timeline For Filing Returns By Exempted Establishments, it has received some representations as to whether Part-E of the return for a wage month has to include actual investments upto the end of the next wage month. EPFO has clarified that Part - E shall contain the information related to the actual investments and other receipts/payments made in the wage month with which the online return relates. For example in the monthly return of March 2017, Part - E will contain the actual contribution receipts, payments and details of the investments made between 1st March 2017 and 30th March 2017. In return of March 2017, establishments are not required to give the investment details of contributions due for March 2017 but actually paid to Trust in April 2017 or thereafter

Online Filing And Specified Timeline For Filing Of Returns By Exempted Establishments
As per EPFO circular dated 1st December 2017, the EPFO has stated that the establishment granted exemption or granted relaxation under the Employees' Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 or the Employees' Provident Funds Scheme, 1952 are now directed to file their monthly and annual returns online in the prescribed proforma by 25th of the month, instead of 15th of the month previously, following that to which it relates to. Further, establishments who have been granted exemption from Regional PF Commissioner for individual employees shall also file their monthly and annual returns in the prescribed proforma online. It is also been clarified that the phrase "25th of the month following that to which it relates" means that the online returns for the wage month should be filed by 25th of the month following the wage month

Introduction Of One Employee One EPF Account Facility
As per EPFO circular dated 1st December 2017, the EPFO has introduced a facility to the members to merge their earlier PF accounts to the current PF account so that the EPFO may help them in the integration of all these PF accounts in the current UAN activated PF account. Features of the said facility are as follows: (1) A member has to provide his current activated UAN along with the current member ID & Mobile number registered at UAN Member portal. (2) On validating these credentials, EPFO will facilitate the member to register his/her EPF accounts. Members can enter details of as many as ten previous PF account numbers. (3)The earlier PF member IDs provided by members will be forwarded to EPFO field office to which earlier member ID pertains. EPFO is currently sending sms to its members whose requests are pending and will also ensure that multiple accounts are consolidated as early as possible. Introduction Of Direct UAN Allotment To Any Citizen At Unified Portal
As per EPFO circular dated 21st November 2017, the EPFO has stated that due to difficulties faced by employers with large number of new joiners each month, an open functionality is being provided at Unified Portal through which any citizen (prospective employee) can generate his/her UAN on the basis of Aadhaar. The citizen can submit generated UAN to the employer so that the same will be linked to member ID allotted to member in that establishment

Introduction Of Online Functionality For EPF Subscribers To Correct Name, DOB, Gender
As per EPFO circular dated 21st November 2017, the EPFO has stated that many members are facing problems in seeding Aadhaar with UAN due to mismatch in Name, DOB or Gender in UAN data and UIDAI data. Thus, in order to reduce paperwork and time delay, a functionality has been developed where member can give online request to his/her employer at Member Interface in the Unified Portal for correction in basic details. The system will compare the requested changes with similar fields received from UIDAI (AADHAAR). After verification, this request will be automatically transferred to employer's login for online transmission to EPFO field office. In turn, after getting online request from member and employer, EPFO field office will process the requested corrections. Revised Procedure For Auto Transfer Of Accounts On Change Of Employment
As per EPFO circular dated 15th November 2017, the EPFO in its Unified Portal/EPFO Application software has introduced the functionality to carry out Auto Transfer of accounts of a member on change of employment. Members whose UAN and Aadhaar number is entered and matched by the present employer against the existing details as available against the UAN would be marked for auto transfer, members have to satisfy the following preconditions that the aadhaar number is seeded and verified at the previous establishment; member's Date of joining, Date of exit and Reason Of Exit should be available in respect of previous employment; UAN is activated and Mobile number is available. Auto Transfer will be initiated once first payment in respect of the new employee is received from the present employer against the UAN flagged for auto-transfer. SMS and e-mail (if registered) will be sent to the member once the transfer is auto initiated. There is also a provision for member to stop the auto transfer by using "Online Services" in the member portal
